This pattern has been responsible for taking a wide variety of fish. Steelhead, chum salmon and brown trout have all been victims. It is very simple to tie, so new tyers can find success immediately with a pattern of their own work.

This is one of the most deadly patterns used during the last three years. There is little doubt that it should be included in a fly box. In a river it is fished dead drift, however fish will take it on end swing. As a lake pattern the fly is fished with a slow retrieve, with slight jerks or variations. Carry the fly down by using a fly line with a good sink rate.
